LSSC and HBTU join forces to advance skill development in the leather sector

The Leather Sector Skill Council (LSSC) and Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur, have joined hands to promote skill development, research, and innovation in the leather and footwear sector. This partnership aims to bridge academia and industry, driving sustainability, employability, and global competitiveness
The Leather Sector Skill Council (LSSC) and Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), Kanpur, have signed a landmark MoU on 29th September 2025.
This strategic collaboration will:
🔹 Introduce specialized training programs for the leather & footwear sector
🔹 Foster research-led innovation in sustainability & technology
🔹 Bridge academia & industry for employability-driven outcomes
🔹 Support eco-friendly and responsible manufacturing practices
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Mukhtarul Amin, Chairman, Leather Sector Skill Council, and Prof. Samsher, Vice Chancellor, HBTU Kanpur, emphasized the importance of bridging academia and industry for skill development and innovation.
